Hobbies & Distractions
Here's a list of some of the crazy things I do in my free time.

This may sound like it's just fun but there's actually
a reasonable explanation. You can enter the serial
numbers from your American money at Where's
George (www.wheresgeorge.com) and see how far
it travels! I even got a stamp so I can put the words
"www.wheresgeorge.com" on my dollar bills.

Here are some links to cool websites I enjoy wasting time

DISCOUNT SHOPPING
eBay (www.ebay.com) Yes, it's try that I once sold a shoebox full of Cracker Jack prizes on eBay, and garnered not less than $20 per set of three little pieces of cardboard or plastic. It's amazing what people collect! My user name is DokTael on eBay, in case you want to check out anything I might have done there (although you can't prove anything!).

Craig's List (www.craigslist.com) This is like a garage sale on-line - and better than eBay, because you look up listings for your neck of the woods - and some things are even free! We got rid of some large items from the house in Ohio before moving to Missouri by placing a free ad on Craig's List. Just insist that the buyer move whatever it is you're selling or giving away, and hold on - because I had a ton of e-mails within minutes of posting my first ad.

WILLING TO PAY FULL PRICE SHOPPING
Cafe Press (www.cafepress.com) This is the place to get your t-shirts. Any t-shirts. Anything you want a t-shirt to say, they probably already have it - and if not, they can make it for you.

Design Toscano (www.designtoscano.com) I don't know if it's the medieval flare that caught my eye or the unique items the offer, but Design Toscano seems to have interesting things that update and change all the time.

The Green Head - This isn't so much the whole store, but a particular item they offer. The Gothic Toilet Seat. You must see it. It's disturbing. And I unfortunately know more than a few people who would probably  put it in their bathroom. (www.thegreenhead.com/2005/06/gothic-commode-seat-every-toilet-in.php)

Edible Arrangements (www.ediblearrangements.com) Why send flowers when you can send fruit that looks like flowers? I thought these "bouquets" were really cool - and tasty!

WASTING TIME
TWINKIES Project (www.twinkiesproject.com) This was one of the first websites I ever saw on the internet and I still think it's great. TWINKIES stands for Tests With Inorganic Noxious Kakes In Extreme Situations. Of course it does.

Truth or Fiction (www.truthorfiction.com) Ever wonder if those mass e-mails you keep forwarding are actually true? Is it a warning you should pass along to loved ones or mere rumor? Look them up at Truth or Fiction to find out the real story before you clog your friends' and family's e-mail boxes with unnecessary fowards.

WASTING COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF TIME
Pogo (www.pogo.com) Richard Barniak introduced me to Pogo when I was told to stay home on bedrest the week before Amelia was born. My username on Pogo is (unimaginatively) dokstevens. But in my defense, I didn't know that my username was going to be broadcast to the world for the rest of my Pogo career as my name - I thought it was just the name you'd use to log in.

Ancestry.com (www.ancestry.com) Lately, I've been spending a lot of time tracking down my ancestors... and not just because I think they owe me money. It's actually pretty interesting to find out what kind of trouble someone you're related to caused in their time.
